Dumfries, VA – January 8, 2021 – At a ceremonial outdoor and socially distanced ribbon cutting, Colonial Downs Group announced today that Rosie’s Gaming Emporium is now open in Dumfries, Va. Rosie’s, located in the Triangle Shopping Plaza convenient to Interstate 95, features 150 slots-like gaming machines, simulcast horse racing, restaurant and bar.

Third Retail Location for Leading Operator to Offer Premier Customer Experience

DraftKings Inc. and del Lago Resort & Casino announced today the opening of the DraftKings Sportsbook at del Lago, the company’s third retail sportsbook location in the U.S. The 6,000 square-foot space will offer sports fans a state of the art and innovative, high-tech retail sports betting experience complete with betting kiosks and LED video screens.

A California investment-management firm is looking ahead to the future of del Lago Resort & Casino now that it’s the sole owner following the Wilmot family’s sale of its 50-percent stake in the property in August.

Colonial Downs Group announced today its first six months of financial results since beginning operations on April 18, 2019 in New Kent County.

Thoroughbred racing returned to Virginia’s Colonial Downs this summer, after a 6-year absence.

At a ceremonial ribbon cutting, Colonial Downs Group announced Tuesday that Rosie’s Gaming Emporium is now open in Hampton, Virginia. Located in the Power Plant shopping center just off Interstate 64, the $40 million gaming venture features 700 historical horse racing (HHR) machines, simulcast horse racing, a restaurant and bar, and a gift shop.

It was the first Super Bowl Sunday with legalized sports betting in New York state, and seats for the sports lounge at del Lago Resort and Casino were sold out for the big game.
