SURVEILLANCE SUPERVISOR

Position Summary

Responsible for monitoring activities of the surveillance room on a day-to-day basis to ensure that guests or team members are not engaged in illegal activities, that all gaming and cash-handling activities are conducted in accordance with New Hampshire Lottery Commission regulations and the Company’s internal controls and procedures, and that assistance is given to security personnel to ensure the safety of the guests and team members and team members.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Assists in hiring, motivating, training, coaching, mentoring, and directing Surveillance Team Members to ensure that they receive sufficient leadership, guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives.

  2. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established Company Policies and Procedures and State Regulations. Provides activity reports to Company leaders as required or requested.

  3. Assists in establishment of department standards, guidelines and objectives, and maintains other administrative processes such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of assigned areas.

  5. Researches, evaluates, and tests surveillance technology and equipment in order to develop and maintain the most appropriate system to achieve security and maintain cost efficiency.

  6. Coordinates surveillance investigation efforts with outside law enforcement agencies to assure proper handling of civil violations of patrons or Team Members; may occasionally appear in court with company attorneys to assist in criminal justice proceedings.

  7. Implements and monitors emergency procedures to ensure prompt and safe handling of such emergencies as fire, flood, or bomb or other threats.

  8. Works with operating departments to design and conduct highly sensitive investigations to facilitate fact finding and probe into potentially illegal or inappropriate activities.

  9. Endeavors to prevent and/or apprehend person engaged in cheating, theft, embezzlement and other illegal activity.

  10. Notifies department leaders, and where appropriate applicable gaming regulatory agencies, upon detection of illegal activities.

  11. Identifies and understands cheating techniques in gaming and count room.

  12. Works with operating departments to design and conduct highly sensitive investigations to facilitate fact finding and probe into potentially illegal or inappropriate activities.

  13. Under the direction of the Director of Surveillance, notifies department leaders, and where appropriate, applicable gaming regulatory agencies, upon detection of illegal activities.

  14. Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as applicable.

  15. Promotes Responsible Gaming, AML and Title 31 compliance.

  16. Maintains constant awareness of the latest gaming and surveillance regulations.

  17. Maintains comprehensive industry familiarity with gaming practices. Works closely with other property key personnel in exchanging information on gaming and other activities as necessary, and develops proper security measures to ensure the integrity of the operation.

  18. Reviews casino activities and property events and promotions with surveillance team members to ensure safety and compliance.

  19. Ensures that the surveillance team is trained and prepared to deliver the highest level of surveillance standards of operating procedures.

  20. Assist with staffing, and work schedules to attain maximum efficiency of labor.

  21. Reviews activities in the gaming operation with the Director of Surveillance in order to gauge and maintain policies and procedures, proper pays, no underage illegal activity and safety to all are being adhered to.

  22. Daily travel may be required between locations, to provide support, perform projects and or provide training.

  23. Take on and manage various projects as assigned in order to aid in achievement of evolving company goals and objectives.

Position Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, plus two years prior surveillance experience in a gaming environment preferred. One year supervisory and/or leadership experience in a gaming environment preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

  • Experience with card counting and basic strategies preferred.

  • Strong oral and written skills and a proficiency in Word are preferred. Background in surveillance equipment is preferred.

  • Knowledge of money handling procedures and experience preferred.

  • Must be able to formulate and communicate ideas and to make independent decisions.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses, certifications, and indemnifications requisite to the successful completion of all essential responsibilities.

  • Must meet or exceed all regulatory conditions stipulated for individuals holding this or similar positions.
