RISK MANAGER

Position Summary

Provide guidance in the administration and implementation of safety programs; coordinate safety activities with other departments; provides administrative and technical advice to supervisors and team members to ensure safety control mechanisms. Ensure compliance with all Federal and state safety laws and regulations and safety procedures and processes. Responsible for promoting safety throughout the property. Promotes positive public and employee relations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established Company policy, State and Federal regulations. 

  2. Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests. 

  3. Responsible for creating and fostering an environment of support and motivation for team members.

  4. Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations by understanding existing laws and rules, interpreting standards, enforcing adherence, and advising management on needed actions.

  5. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established procedures with company policy and state regulations.

  6. Advises and assists managers and supervisors in promoting a safe work environment.

  7. Performs internal investigations (such as contact tracing) and coordinates resources to determine need for action, reporting and notification.

  8. Assist with creating/updating/auditing Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and ensuring team members are properly trained in them

  9. Conduct accident investigations and work with supervisors and employees to develop plans to prevent similar accidents. Implement the plan and monitor the results of the plan.

  10. May lead both routine and non-routine accident and quarterly safety inspections.

  11. Adheres to department budget.

  12. Assesses employee Worker’s Compensation issues and seeks potential opportunities to resolve them.

  13. Ensures compliance with OSHA-related occupational health reports.

  14. Advises employees on the enrollment and administration of benefits.

  15. Ensures compliance with Federal and State posting requirements

  16. Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position supervisor.  Performs functions of position independently and within established procedures and guidelines. Seeks supervisory guidance for non-routine or complex matters.

  17. Monitors the day-to-day activities of the department(s) as subject to established company policies.

  18. Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.

  19. Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.

  20. Obtain and retain required license(s).

  21. Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.

  22. Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.

  23. Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department.

  24. Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gaming.

  25. Reviews the work activities of subordinate employees to ensure that work is being performed within the standards established by management.

  26. Produces training materials to meet compliance requirements, may teach as required.

  27. Take on and manage various projects as assigned in order to aid in achievement of evolving Company goals and objectives.

  28. Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.

  29. Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, and/or two to four years safety and/or case management experience in a in a complex environment across multiple locations. CSP/ASP or similar designation is not required but preferred.  Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. 

  • Must be knowledgeable in all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to labor.   

  • Strong analytical, oral and written skills and a proficiency in Word and Excel are required. 

  • Must be able to formulate and communicate ideas and to make independent decisions.

  • Must be able to travel to all Company properties.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses, certifications, and indemnifications requisite to the successful completion of all essential responsibilities.

  • Must meet or exceed all regulatory conditions stipulated for individuals holding this or similar positions.
