DIRECTOR OF PURCHASING

Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services, maintenance and organization of warehouse inventory, and direct receiving of items for special project purchases.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Hires, motivates, trains, coaches, and directs staff to ensure that Team Members receive leadership, and guidance to accomplish established objectives.

  2. Establishes department standards, guidelines and objectives.

  3. Develops administrative processes such as budget and staffing, to ensure efficient operation of assigned areas.

  4. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established Company policy and state regulations.

  5. Monitors and tracks spending by category, and reports on MWBE spend to the Company and regulators.

  6. Reviews requisitions, contacts vendors, and purchases goods based on agreed pricing, quantity and quality.  Ensures timely procurement of goods at price/value to consistent with the needs of each department.

  7. Communicates and coordinates with various departments to understand needs, anticipate and resolve issues, and ensure that purchasing services meet the needs of the company.

  8. Reviews bids for all major purchases to secure the most advantageous price, quantity, quality, service level, and delivery schedule available.

  9. Researches and communicates with existing and potential vendors to cultivate working relationships, and develop most advantageous price and service agreements.

  10. Reviews inventory (such as office supplies and par items) and places orders to maintain par levels of inventory which best meet user specifications and requirements.

  11. Works with vendors to resolve discrepancies, return items, and coordinate delivery schedules in order to ensure timely inventory availability.

  12. Ensures compliance with Internal Control policies and procedures. Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner.

  13. Take on and manage various projects as assigned in order to aid in achievement of evolving company goals and objectives.

  14. Must be able to travel to all Company properties.

 

Position Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s degree or higher +10 or more years of purchasing experience in gaming or hospitality services is preferable.  Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

  • Department management experience preferred.

  • Must be able to formulate and communicate ideas and to make independent decisions.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses, certifications, and indemnifications requisite to the successful completion of all essential responsibilities.

  • Must meet or exceed all regulatory conditions stipulated for individuals holding this or similar positions.
