DIRECTOR OF IT

Position Summary

Responsible for the overall management, coordination and operations of the information technology group.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Creates, develops, and implements an effective organizational strategy, setting clear and attainable goals.

  2. Formulates and makes recommendations regarding policies, administration and procedures. 

  3. Works closely with other executives and managers in planning and carrying out activities and programs to assure that company and departmental objectives are met.

  4. Ensures quality of management in all areas of the IT group.

  5. Hires, motivates, trains, coaches, mentors, and directs IT Team Members.  Provides leadership, guidance and resources so Team Members can accomplish established objectives.

  6. Prepares departmental operating budgets, monitors budgetary compliance, and takes action on budget variance items.

  7. Responds to emergencies as per established procedures; responsible for knowledge of safety and emergency procedures and ensures that shift personnel have knowledge of the same; follows established procedures in reporting potential hazard areas.

  8. Monitors, manages, administers the server environment including; Active Directory, Exchange, SQL database and applications.

  9. Secures all servers, and prepares as well as administers disaster recovery protocols, including backups of servers.

  10. Provides repair and upgrades for hardware, networks and software.

  11. Responsible for coordinating the selection and purchase of equipment and support materials needed to reach company goals.

  12. Develops and maintains an accurate inventory of all technology parts and equipment.

  13. Coordinates and provides in-service and hands-on training for Team Members for both hardware and software applications as needed.

  14. Take on and manage various projects as assigned in order to aid in achievement of evolving company goals and objectives.

  15. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate clearly in person, in writing, by telephone, and email to a diverse range of audiences. 

  16. Must be able to travel to all Company properties.

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science plus ten-years of progressive experience in IT operations.  Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

  • Strong oral and written skills and a proficiency in Word and Excel are required.

  • Must be able to formulate and communicate ideas and to make independent decisions.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses, certifications, and indemnifications requisite to the successful completion of all essential responsibilities.

  • Must meet or exceed all regulatory conditions stipulated for individuals holding this or similar positions.
